Published on March 1, 2012 in Uncategorized

I don’t see a wealth of Pampers coupons floating around. They’re harder to come by than Huggies. I’d go grab these. After you’ve printed once, don’t forget to hit “Back” so you can print a second time!

and  here’s a Palmolive just for fun!

Special Day

Thanks to Jesus, my husband and Thirty-One, my daughter and I were able to spend the day at the zoo. Don’t know what’d I do if I had to have a real person job but I sure am thankful I don’t!

Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design- $59.80

This is my favorite deal– of the century. I’ve been wanting Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for such a long time now for Storehouse Graphics and for use here on StoreHouseWife. The software could work wonders for me and possibly generate a lot more income in a hurry but as you probably know if you clicked on this post, its dangerously expensive! The package that would be useful for me retails for $1,299. HA! Not happening—-there’s a BUT however.

If you are a student or an educator you can purchase the software for 80% off! That gives us a price of $299 for the Student and Teacher edition. Not bad. Definately doable. Still, not in my budget right now! Enter coupon code SAVE80EDU. Suddenly another 80% is wiped out,  bringing the CS5.5 Design Standard Student and Teacher Edition (what I need) to a whopping $59.80! If you’re just in the market for Photoshop you can grab that for $39.80!

Interestingly enough, just this morning I was just thinking about how I could grab Photoshop. I had decided it would be a while and was ok with that. God delights in the details of our lives does he not?

If you need a different Creative Suite or Adobe option (that is available in the student/teacher version) the code will work for that as well. The Master Suite (sounds important) can be swiped up for only $179! At checkout, information regarding your student or teacher status will be requested. My husband is still a student so we’ll be using his student ID to confirm that.  Also, it should be noted that the coupon code expires 3/3.

I hope this deal puts Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign on some of your computers like it will mine!

I am currently on HOLD with Adobe customer service as I went back today to grab this deal (because it was advertised as available until March 3rd). So far in my online chat, they have told me there was an error with the promotional code and there is nothing they can do for me. I am frustrated as their website not only advertised the code but also advertised the expiration date. This is false advertising. I do plan to see the situation remedied to best of my ability. That may include the BBB.

Wednesday Encouragement- Link Up #3

Rewarded Stewardship

This week’s encouragement is from my friend, Julie and it’s one of my favorites! It will probably make you cry—especially if financial strain is weighing on your heart. Enjoy!

September 2011
When my husband and I got married almost 4 years ago, he had just recently bought a truck that he took a loan out for.  Coming from a family where my dad was of the thought “always pay cash for a vehicle”, the idea of a car loan wasn’t something I was too excited about, but it was what it was and at least we had a vehicle for him.  $335 was what we were paying every month and when we were both working full time, that wasn’t a huge deal…we had the funds to make the payment.  However, jump ahead 2 years and I am pregnant with our first child and really want to be able to stay home with her.  This car payment was now going to be a stretch.  We made it work and pinched our finances for the first year but it was very, very (VERY) tight.  There were many months where we didn’t know how we’d pay the bills. But God was faithful.  We both knew that me staying home with our daughter was what He wanted us to do and because of that we knew God would provide the money somehow…which he did.
Jumping ahead to June of 2011, I had been talking with a friend from my hometown and she was telling me how her and her husband were planning to sell their one vehicle and try to make it with only one car for their family.  I talked to my husband about it and we decided that financially that would put us in a much better position and we’d be making a smarter move to be better stewards of our money.  We posted my husbands truck on Craigslist and it was sold within a day.  It was a very hard decision for my husband as that was his“man” car and now we only had our Honda CRV.  I was pregnant with our second child and due in December but we knew that God was going to provide. We started praying for him to provide us with a vehicle for a good price; something that would just get Pete to and from work – something simple.
This past September we were back home (Chicago) visiting our family and my dad had called me previously and said that one of his friends had a family who needed a van driven back to Wichita for them so they were going to pay to fly us home and then if we would be able to drive the van back to Wichita.  We agreed and didn’t think anything of it.  We planned to pick the van up on a Friday morning and drive it home Saturday.  My parents, husband, daughter and myself drove to this family’s house to get the van.  We pull in the driveway and there was a silver Honda Odyssey sitting there.  We got excited knowing that our drive home was going to be a comfortable one (that was also the car that I had dreamed about having when I had a family!).  We get out of the car and the couple comes out and after greetings they hand us a card with the address of where we were to take the van to in Wichita. Pete opens the card and just stands there.  It was our address. I look at the card and immediately start crying.  They were giving us the van.  As in they bought it for us!  Completely free!!  I was absolutely stunned and didn’t have any words to say.  The tears just kept flowing.  God had taken care of us in a way that I never would have ever imagined.  He knew our needs and met them over and above.  Wow.  Not only did they buy us a van, the man handed us $200 cash to pay for gas on the way home and they gave us $500 to help cover the cost of additional insurance for the year.  Wow.
As we loaded our daughter’s car seat into our new mini van and we got in and pulled out of the driveway, we both had no words.  Not only would this new car fit our growing family, but now we once again had two vehicles and wouldn’t have to deal with the hassle of driving each other back and forth to work.
honda odyssey
I can honestly say I’ve known some pretty generous people, but that gift we received that day absolutely blew me away.  Talk about a picture of God’s generosity.  This couple didn’t even know us!  My dad told us later that he had told his men’s Bible study that he was proud of us for selling our truck and that he thought that while it was a hard decision, it was the right one and that God was going to provide for our needs.  One of the men in the study told his wife and they together felt God prompting them to buy us this mini van.  I’m still blown away even as I write this.  God blessed us more abundantly than we could ever have imagined.  We were faithful and wanted to be good stewards of what he had given us and because of that He provided 1,000 times over.  What an incredible blessing and an amazing God we serve!!!

If that doesn’t testify to God’s faithfulness, I don’t know what does!

2 Vistaprint Deals to Choose From

livingsocial vistaprint dealLivingSocial has another great deal for Vistaprint. And there’s so many reasons to love Vistaprint! Right now you can snag a deal for $10 to get $50 worth of stuff. Now, there’s a lot of things you can get for “free”. (I personally think the “free” thing is dumb because you pay the difference in the shipping! BUT it’s still a lot less than you can find anywhere else.) Because there is so much you can get for free. I buy these deals so I can get some of their more expensive items that do not go for “free”. In my personal business, I’ve used them for postcards, banners and yard signs. The other great thing is there is an option to upload your own design if you don’t like anything they’ve got. Here’s a photo of the banner I got with a previous LivingSocial deal to use for my business at vendor events:

Craftsy Block of the Month Club!

Published on February 20, 2012 in Sewing

Craftsy is a great site! If you know how to sew a straight line, you can quilt! Right now, you can join for free and learn a new block each month! I wish I would have found this when I was starting my first quilt! Check out Craftsy’s blurb about the program:

Learn fun quilting techniques, make new friends and create a one-of-a-kind quilt with the FREE Craftsy Block of the Month! Each month, Amy Gibson will guide you through a specific quilting technique – half- and quarter-square triangles, appliqué, string quilting, paper piecing and more. Then she’ll teach you two nifty 12-inch blocks using what you’ve learned. Some are brand-new designs, others fresh twists on traditional favorites. Along the way, you’ll make 20 blocks from fat quarters, then assemble them into a throw-sized quilt.

Use Amy’s selected fat quarters, Westminster Fabrics’ contemporary FreeSpirit Boho, or choose favorites from your stash. It’s a great class for experienced quilters, but jump right in if you have basic sewing skills and feel ready to tackle your first quilt!

Enroll free any time during the year and get instant access to all the lessons you’ve missed. As with all Craftsy courses, you can take the class at your own pace and your access never expires. Plus you get a great online community to share ideas with, and Amy at the ready to answer questions and help you along. We’d offer our 100 percent money-back guarantee, but we don’t have to, because it’s FREE!
